Update!

Quick update while Hailey is sleeping.. unfortunately I don't have the cord to transfer pics from the camera to the computer with me so I can't post pics right now but I will get the cord this coming week and update.. promise! Hailey is doing great and overall she is a great baby. She weighed 5 pounds 13 ounces at her appointment last week. Mike and I keep looking at her and saying how big she is getting and that it scares us that she will grow up soo fast!
Right now our days are consumed with what seems like endless feedings, diaper changing, sleeping and doctors appointments.. I think it wouldn't be so tiring if she slept through the night,(which seems like it will never happen even though I know it probably wont happen until sometime next year) but Im not complaining, I love her!
Last week Mike and I gave Hailey her first bath in her tub so I will add some pics of that as well in the next post. Hailey is starting to smile but its just been random ones so hopefully they will be directed at someone or something soon! I got to go Hailey is calling but thanks everyone for reading and I promise to post pics soon!

Hailey is home!

Sorry I haven't updated the blog until now but we have great news! Hailey came home on Sunday, August 9th, weighing 5 pounds and she has been wonderful! Mike has some nicknames for our little girl which I think are really cute.. one name is "Pip- squeak" because Hailey does these random little squeaks which are just the cutest thing to hear! The other nickname is Hals. Today the cutest thing happened.. Mike put Hailey down on the bed for a second and he was talking to her when she looked at him and smiled! It was priceless.. Mike loved it and it was beautiful to see them bonding! I kind of feel like a child again.. in need of an afternoon nap since I am getting up about 5 times between midnight and 8am to change her diaper and feed her. Mike is an amazing dad and helps both Hailey and myself out as much as he can during the day and I take over for the most part at night which is how we planned to take care of her and its working out nicely! Hailey is seeing her pediatrician and the pediatric surgeons tomorrow so hopefully we will only get good news, which I think we will. Here are a few pictures from the past few days of Hailey!

"It's like she read the book or something."

So the doctors are amazed by how well Hailey is doing and one of them said "It's like she read the book or something." Things just couldn't be going better! Sorry I haven't updated in a few days but we are just so amazed by how fast she is progressing that we haven't wanted to leave her side. As of 9pm tonight Hailey will be up to 30cc's of breast milk every 3 hours and they are upping it 2cc's every other feed so at midnight she will get another 30cc's and then at 3am she will get 32cc's and so on. Sorry we don't have any pics but I will update tomorrow and add some more! Thank you everyone for reading Hailey's blog and praying for her we truly appreciate it! Hope to see you all soon and introduce you to Hailey!

More Kangaroo Care pics!

Hailey is doing really well and doing everything the doctors want her to do but she is really hungry at the same time... they haven't started feeding her yet (only TPN through an IV) but they said maybe they will start giving her pedialyte today! Our baby girl is soo strong and we just pray that once they start feeding her things go well and we can move forward in this process and on to breastmilk.. I know its awhiles away but I am praying that it happens soon because its breaking my heart! Overall though we couldn't be happier with the progress she has made and we are overwhelmed with the love and happiness she has brought to our hearts! I did kangaroo care for the first time on friday before I got discharged from the hospital and it was the best feeling in the world to have her body against my chest.. so many wonderful emotions I can't even begin to explain! Daddy got to do kangaroo care yesterday for the first time and I couldn't wait for him to experience that bond with her! We will be going to visit Hailey this afternoon and pray that she will start getting some pedialyte while we are there! What a relief that will be for all of us when it happens... Here are some pictures from the past two days! Sorry if they are dark but we don't like to use the flash on the camera when Hailey is resting.

My sleepy heads!!

Daddy doing Kangaroo Care for the first time yesterday!!

He is loving it!
Thanks for the stork Britni it looks soo cute in my crib!

Sometimes its hard for me to do kangaroo care because hailey cant have my milk and shes looking for it but I just keep telling her she is strong and great things come to those who wait baby girl! xoxoxo
Mike and I saw this double rainbow on the way home friday when I was discharged from the hospital and it was soo reassuring to see this sign from god.. We don't need to go searching for the end of this rainbow because we already got our pot of gold.. Hailey!
