Hailey is doing really well and doing everything the doctors want her to do but she is really hungry at the same time... they haven't started feeding her yet (only TPN through an IV) but they said maybe they will start giving her pedialyte today! Our baby girl is soo strong and we just pray that once they start feeding her things go well and we can move forward in this process and on to breastmilk.. I know its awhiles away but I am praying that it happens soon because its breaking my heart! Overall though we couldn't be happier with the progress she has made and we are overwhelmed with the love and happiness she has brought to our hearts! I did kangaroo care for the first time on friday before I got discharged from the hospital and it was the best feeling in the world to have her body against my chest.. so many wonderful emotions I can't even begin to explain! Daddy got to do kangaroo care yesterday for the first time and I couldn't wait for him to experience that bond with her! We will be going to visit Hailey this afternoon and pray that she will start getting some pedialyte while we are there! What a relief that will be for all of us when it happens... Here are some pictures from the past two days! Sorry if they are dark but we don't like to use the flash on the camera when Hailey is resting.
My sleepy heads!!

Daddy doing Kangaroo Care for the first time yesterday!!

Mike and I saw this double rainbow on the way home friday when I was discharged from the hospital and it was soo reassuring to see this sign from god.. We don't need to go searching for the end of this rainbow because we already got our pot of gold.. Hailey!

Hi Laurne, Michael & Hailey:
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the birth of Hailey and the realted events, even though it is a roller coster ride and we are not geographically close, we appreciate you sharing all this with us!
We will keep you in our prayers and want to see you all soon!!
Sarah has a small bin of things she wants to give to Hailey! Sarah is keeping a few items for when Hailey gets older too! She printed her picture and put her birth information on it and it is on our refrigerator!
We all cannot wait to see you all!
We are thinking of all of you!
Love, Auntie Robin, Uncle Rick and Sarah
